I’ve never been a massive fan of the iconic Missoni Zigzag print. That is until today.

I love the new Missoni for Target bike… I don’t think I’ve been on a bike since I was a child, but maybe it’s time to dust down my high-vis vest and give this retro number a shot.

When creating the annual report for a successful 100 year old company, it’s important to get it right.

So what’s the best way to represent a company? 

To highlight the most important part of a successful business, of course - The Employees.

 

What a man carries in his pockets can tell a lot about the person.

 

Anthon B Nilsen, a company which deals in property; education and recycling, decided to showcase their staff by photographing their possessions as opposed to their faces. 

This way, the reader learns about the staff on a personal level!

 

I love every aspect of this publication, from the personable level to the paper stock used and foil block print adopted.

Their approach to design definitely falls on the side of less is more, coupling perfect colour combinations with effective print finishes.

The XYZ Production business card is a perfect example and the white space utilised in the The REDD Desk magazines is perfect!

Print Design :: Soh Jin Ping

Being an absolute print geek, it’s difficult to hold back my glee when I stumbled upon Soh Jin Ping. This Singapore based designer is has a wealth of stunning and inspirational work under his belt.

I’m particularly taken with his Poetics of Harmony project, where he has carefully handcrafted and assembled a minimal ink book. 

The stitch bound book follows a harmonious story - each beautiful page revealed precedes one that compliments it perfectly.

 

Another project entitled Nyctophobia combines the normal reading system for visually-abled with braille. 

The book, featuring a poem by Bill Watterson, aims to allow visually-abled readers to learn Braille by introducing blanks in between stanzas within the poem, which serves as a coded message for readers to decode. 

Black ink is intentionally used to print on the black pages to visually capture the fears lurking in the dark, as experienced by the protagonist in the poem.

All in all, Soh Jin Ping is a designer you should check out as there is sure to be one of his previous projects that captures your imagination.
