Good old fashion knitting

I love a good bit of needlepoint, who doesn’t? So when I came across these abstract pieces from CRESUS artisant, I was smitten.

With a collection made up of coasters; clothing; bags and rugs there really is something for everyone… That’s if you like a bit of good, old-fashion knitting.

Recycling Chic

Recycling, on the whole, is a fairly boring topic. But Degross Design & Innovation are a design company that makes recycling chic!

They have produced a sustainable design project called, ULTREM LUX, where they take old glass bottles and reuse them to create beautiful lampshades.

The used bottles were discarded behind their studio and have been lovingly transformed into something entirely new.

I want the table lamp – Lovely stuff!

two birds with one stone

I wouldn’t profess to be at one with nature… after being brought up on a ruralish Island, surrounded with nature and wildlife maybe I’m just a bit numbed to it.

But after spotting this great little (well… big) birdhouse, I might change my mind and become a bit of a twitcher!

Designed by Nando, the aim of this project was to increase access to nature activities.

This tree house combines housing one person along with 78 nesting birds and what’s more, it’s a really clever design, what's not to like?

Vases – Inspired by loss and memories

Hadgar Glick, an Israeli designer has produced a series of beautiful vases that are inspired by loss and the memories associated by loss.

From the fairly obvious cracked vase to the more unusual and beautiful copper-coloured, slinky-like vase which is a nod to jewellery and the memories that are held within pieces that are passed down the generations.

I think this is a really touching collection and you’re guaranteed to find at least one vase that appeals to you.

On yer bike...

I’ve never been a massive fan of the iconic Missoni Zigzag print. That is until today.

I love the new Missoni for Target bike… I don’t think I’ve been on a bike since I was a child, but maybe it’s time to dust down my high-vis vest and give this retro number a shot.

TypeFACE posters

I love a good typeface project and this ‘type face,’ poster series is a great light-hearted example.

Designed by Tiago Pinto, this project uses different typefaces to create fun faces.

I don’t think design should be taken so seriously all the time!

What’s not to like?

The Wooden Lightbulb

This unusual wooden light bulb is an unlikely yet beautiful product.

Blending traditional craftsmanship with modern LED lighting, Ryosuke Fukusada has painstakingly chip out just enough wood within the bulb to emit a stunning glow when the LED is switched on.
Gorgeously clever stuff.

Mental Disorder Posters

Really loving this considered, minimal posters depicting Mental Disorders.

Created by Patrick Smith, his layout and minimal approach and ideal layout creates a really strong series.

A very clever way of visually representing mental disorders.

Check out more of his work here.

Mixing up my notebooks.

I’m a massive fan of the classic Moleskin Notebook, whether its a sketchbook or my trusty diary, I’m moleskin all the way.

But after seeing this quirky little book by Tan Mavitan, I might have to mix up my notebook choices.

Great Stuff!
