Lee Jeffries Photography

I’m completely captivated by the portrait photography of Lee Jeffries.

If you like your photography to tell a story, then these emotional portraits are a dead-cert to impress.

A new way of looking at Quartz...

Shaped Quartz takes me back to the mid 90’s, when it was all the rage to dangle oddly shaped quartz from a leather necklace. I remember having a key-ring in the shape of an eagles head… It was horrific.

Now we can take a fresh look at this material. Aeon Quartz create a potent, evocative, forward thinking series of uniquely sculpted jewels. Each piece is a custom crafted, one of a kind work of art.

If you’re someone who likes their statement jewellery, you should try Aeon Quartz on for size!

Tobacco Branding...

Anyone who knows me, knows I love nothing more than cup of tea and a cigarette… it’s pretty much my staple diet.

That is until recently.

Over the last couple of months I’ve been trying to 'bin the cigs.' (trying, being the operative word…it’s proving very difficult!!)

So in the spirit of good intentions I thought I’d showcase some of my favourite tobacco branding. Think of it as a kind-of final cheerio to my smoking ways!

For the Cigar lover…

Debonair Cigars

Designed by Royalt.

Debonair Cigars and Tobacco are designed with a focus on the early 1900′s.
Their motto?

“Stay confident, stylish, and charming.” Naturally!

For the forgetful smoker…

Nomad

Designed by Matthew Smiroldo

“All smokers have the problem of forgetting a lighter at the most inconvenient times. Nomad is a brand that I created to solve this problem with a self lighting aspect…’’

For the Snuff Man (or Woman)…

Skurf Moist Snuff

Design by Neumeister

‘’ New packaging in white that made the brand feel exclusive, luxurious, contemporary and unisex…’’

Braun Product Catalogue, Circa 1970

I just came across a great collection of retro Braun Catalogues on the AisleOne Website and they’re picture-perfect!

The use of colour, typography, layout and photography is so well done  - not too minimal just the Ideal balance.

As for the Stereo Steuergerat Atelier 3… I want one!

Claire Huss : I am Dora

Ever since university I’ve had a bit of a fascination with creating look-books using different binding techniques - Chicago screws are my favourite (Yes, I’m a geek!!)

So when I came across Claire Huss’s publication I am Dora, I was both in awe and truely envious.

This lovingly put together publication combines different paper textures, tones and sizes resulting in a really visually beautiful outcome.

Over the moon (maybe a bit of an exaggeration) to get my Business cards through the post today!

My 1st website design and build…

A few weeks ago I mentioned I was dusting down and brushing up on my web skills. While since then, I’ve been working on two website and I’m very happy to have completed one of them.

Iain Baillie is a great photographer based in Central Scotland with a beautiful range of snaps in his folio.
When building Baillie’s site I was given full control of the design (EXCELLENT) so the last thing I wanted it to be was pretentious. Instead I felt it was important to produce a playful design, one that’s clean without being your classic ‘minimal’ full of ‘white space’ site that’s synonymous with photographers.
I’m really happy with my 1st site design and build, why not take a wee look... and any feedback (good or bad) is appreciated! Visits Iains site here.

Thanks,

Rebranding The British Pub for Stylish Snobs...

Reynolds and Reyner are a branding firm based in Russia that understands the importance of Design.
They have put together a great branding pack for the new Liverpool Pub which incorporates elements that make Liverpool such a famous city, from The Liver Bird to the city's location by the sea.
The branding is more reminiscent of an Old Boys Gentlemans club than a Traditional Liverpublian working-class pub. Why? Because the Liverpool Pub is in actual fact located in
the Ukraine and it's a high class dining restaurant.

I love this project, from the beer mats to the wax sealing stamp, it’s all pretty perfect.

Check out more of Reynolds and Reyner here,
