Stylish, Quality, Charitable, Tumbler...

I’ve been meaning to purchase a thermal travel cup for my daily commute for some time.  I was planning on splashing out at a local supermarket for my cosy utensil…that was until today!

This morning, I stumbled upon a stylish alternative to your bog-standard thermal cup. What’s more, there’s an added do-good incentive involved.

The Tumbler collection by MiiR is a simple, quality design that not only keeps your morning beverage nice and toasty whilst reducing your paper and plastic waste, it also provides a years clean water supply for one person for every cup purchased.

Each cup comes with a unique tracking code that tells you which project you’re helped to fund.

Nothing Fancy here...

The best design solutions are always the simplest – This statement couldn’t be more true when applied to Chieh Ting Huang’s minimalist wallet range, Nothing Fancy.

Crafted from a single piece of folded leather secured with a single elastic band, these stunningly modest designs are not only beautiful to the eye but work an absolute treat.

A bit of 70's inspired furniture? Yes Please!

I love a bit of 70’s retro inspired design. So when I was introduced to Zurn Design, I was in my element.

Whether working with retailers, designers and decorators, or directly with clients, their goal is to inspire and amaze with original hand crafted designer furniture and lighting.

I love their walnut Credenza sideboard, if only I had the room to accommodate.

Check out their sleek website for more perfect designs.

A modern Pendulum Timepiece

I’m a fan of the traditional grandfather clock but alas I haven’t the space to accommodate one.

So when I stumbled upon this contemporary twist on the classic pendulum style timepiece I was pretty smitten.

Designed by German based product designer, Christian Kim, the ‘Zwilling’ clock is a beautiful; modern alternative that can complement and most importantly fit into the neatest of spaces.

I must have one!

Pantone...? How about Beertone?!

Forget Pantone, the colour guide for 2013 is Beertone!

This quirky little swatch book is the perfect helper for the pint enthusiast amongst us.

Detailing around 202 Swiss beers in order of colour, you’ll be able to reference your beer in order from light to dark.

Each swatch features the beer brand, description, and colour information (CMYK, RGB, Web, SRM ref).

So, how exactly does one get a job at Beertone?

I’ve just stumbled upon a great concept branding for a speciality bread shop based in Honolulu.

With its clean design and clever use of product photography it almost looks, well... good enough to eat!

Satement Wall

For me, the jury’s out with regards to the ‘feature wall.’

I’m more of a play-it-safe and paint-it-white kind of gal. I’m a coward when it comes to colour. There, I’ve said it!

If you’ve got more gumption than me, you’ll love these great wallpapers from 2Modern.

designs from designers such as Graham & Brown, Ferm Living, Tempaper, and Olli & Lime. The modern wallpaper styles from 2Modern's Wallpaper Shop are guaranteed to add a touch of contemporary flair to any room in your home.

Renate Vos Concrete Lamps

I’m quite smitten with these urban industrial lamp shapes from Netherlands based designer, Renate Vos.

These suspended shades are made from a contrasting mixture of concrete and silicone rubber resulting in the most unique of looks.

Through the use of these materials the lamp gives a very warm light that contrasts with the clear appearance of the silicone and it works perfectly.

Check out more from Renate Vos here.

Unravel the year...

Where does the time go? We’re well and truly into 2013, and I’ve still not updated my annual calendar yet.
So while having a nosey online in the hope of finding a great calendar design, I stumbled upon this creative, intelligent-haberdasher of an option.

The knitted calendar that you literally unravel as the year passes.

Designed by Patrick Frey, this is the perfect calendar for those who love a truly tactile product.

Check out Frey’s website here, you won’t be disappointed.

A Mad Men tea set

Over the festive period I’ve had a successful holiday filled with grotesque over-indulgence, a week of 12 hour sleeps, along with catching up with my predictable; cliché; guilty-pleasure of a programme, Mad Men (I was gifted the latest series box-set…it would be rude not to…stop judging me!)

Unsurprisingly, I’m more absorbed by the set props and the cut of Don Draper’s suit than the plot lines themselves, so when I came across this retro-inspired tea set and tray designed by São Paulo-based artist and designer, Jacqueline Terpins, the 1st thing that popped into my head was indeed Mad Men.

With its futuristic deco-inspired shape and stainless steel construction, it wouldn’t look out of place popped into Roger Sterlings office (tea substituted by vodka, naturally.)

The Trama line consists of a teapot, a tea & coffee set, a square tray and a rectangle tray, follow this link to find out more.
